Joanne Fantini, CSJA, appointed Director of Eastern Point Retreat House

GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Aug. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The New England Province of the Society of Jesus is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Fantini, CSJA, as director of Eastern Point Retreat House. Fantini brings a wealth of business management as well as training and practice in Ignatian spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises to the position.

Prior to joining the staff at Eastern Point Retreat House, Fantini was a manager with a global pharmaceutical company specializing in addiction treatment programs. She has over 15 years of business experience which includes recruiting, training, team development, project management, program management, curriculum development, executive coaching, board development, and budget management. Fantini holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Spirituality and Ministry from Boston College and completed the   Practicum in Spiritual Direction at the Center for Religious Development (CRD) and The Jesuit Collaborative.  She has been lay associate member of the Sisters of St. Joseph since 1986.

“Joanne’s  excellent business and management skills will augment the responsibilities of the day-to-day operations of Eastern Point Retreat House which includes supervising staff and volunteers, and caring for the retreat house and grounds. Her  passion for Ignatian spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises and her experience as a spiritual director and retreat director will enhance the program offerings,” says Fr. Myles Sheehan, SJ, Provincial of the New England Province of Jesuits.

“As the new director, I look forward to sharing my great love of the Spiritual Exercises to all who come to this sacred space seeking to enhance their prayer life and to place my extensive business experience at the service of this remarkable property,”  says Fantini.
