Online Training Site? Turn To WordPress!

Whether you are looking to create an online site for your employees to learn a new software package, or creating a series of online courses, you can turn to WordPress.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Aug. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- It is simple when you use the WP Courseware plugin!

That's right, you can rely on a WordPress cheap hosting site to host your online courses! It's easy to build, and easy to use. Before the WP Courseware plugin, it was tricky to configure other software no matter how powerful it was. Let's see why WP Courseware is truly the best choice for your training course site!

Capabilities

Looking to break your course down into smaller, more manageable modules? This plugin lets you. Go ahead and organize your course however you'd like, such as different courses for different departments within your organization, or different degrees or certificates for your students. Just set up controls regarding who can access specific lessons to keep your criminal justice student logging into an accounting course!

If you want the power to test your students' or employees' knowledge during the course, go ahead and set up a quiz or survey at any point within the lesson. You can get their feedback via surveys, or set up a quiz that they must pass in order to move along to the next part of the lesson.

Want to see which of your students or employees have successfully passed on to the next lesson? Set up email notifications for this and a host of other events. There are also powerful progress tracking features.

Setup

You'll want a decent membership plugin. Trust Wishlist Member, a plugin that can help assure that the right people are taking the courses. Each course is set up within WordPress like a custom post, and simply drag and drop the training units into the order you'd like. Want to move the units around between modules? Go ahead!

When you set up your quizzes, a pop-up window will appear. Give the quiz a name and brief description, then select the type of quiz: survey mode, where there are no right or wrong answers and information is gathered from the user; quiz mode - blocking, where the user has to pass to be able to progress to the next lesson; and quiz mode - non-blocking, where the user can progress no matter if they pass or fail the quiz. Now, select whether or not the user can see the correct answers to the quiz prior to progressing to the next lesson by simply checking the box next to "show answers" or "no answers."

Yes, you are able to gain useful information about their progress, but the real value for the user is that they, too, can track their progress. They mark off each lesson as they complete it: a text box will pop up after they complete each unit that says "Have you completed this unit AND any action steps specified? If yes, mark it as done." The user clicks "Mark as Completed," then moves on to the next unit. You are able to see their progress in the back end.

The Future

Right now, they are hard at work on improvements to the plugin, such as a place for instructors to provide feedback to students on their assignments and quizzes. If you are looking for a great training program and love using WordPress, this is right for you!
