Three Common Web Design Mistakes

It’s proven that customers rarely connect to business logos, in other words, people won’t buy your product because you have a great looking logo.

Content that goes on and on – Users don’t read, they skim. You may have heard this before, and that’s because it's true and incredibly important. When a user or potential customer views your website and is confronted with a long page filled with just plain text, it’s likely that they won’t stick around to hear what you have to say. If you have a lot to share organize your content. Separate your content by topic and put each topic on a different page. Use bulleted lists, bold and italic words (sparingly), and headers in your web design to express main points to your website viewers.

Difficult navigation – There aren’t many cases where you should sacrifice usability for fancy web design, especially in small business. Chances are you are not the exception. What do your customers want to know when viewing your website? It’s good business to know this, and to make the information your customers want easily accessible on your website. Don’t make a user hunt for content; chances are they won’t take the time to look. Would you?
