SafePath Children's Advocacy Center provides children with a "window of hope"
ATLANTA - Aug. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- On Thursday, August 22, the Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods’ team will put down their tape measures and hammers and pick up their forks and knives in support of SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center, a local organization dedicated to providing children with “a window of hope to a brighter tomorrow.” As the host of “Good Eatin’, Great Cause,” SafePath welcomes 30 of Metro Atlanta’s top chefs to the Cobb Galleria Centre as they come together to prepare tapas-inspired dishes while serving up agreat time.  This popular event will also feature a cook-off competition with the local police and fire departments, as well as a silent auction.  Members of the Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods team will be in attendance along with other corporate sponsors and caring individuals.

SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc. is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of children who have been abused. SafePath's mission is to reduce the trauma to children and their families by offering a comprehensive, professional, and child-friendly approach to the allegations of child abuse.   By bringing together a collaborative team of professionals from law enforcement, the district attorney's office, therapists, healthcare professions, Child Protection Services, and other agencies, SafePath is able to provide unique services for children in the Cobb County community at a centralized location. This worthy and much-needed organization relies on the support and commitment of many foundations, corporations, individuals, grantors and community partners in order to make a difference in the lives of children and help to build a community free of child abuse.

“As homebuilders, we are a family-focused company,” explains Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods’ President and CEO, Gregg Goldenberg. “Many of our marketing materials are representative of our homeowners and feature photos of happy, smiling families. SafePath teaches us that not all families fit that ‘picture perfect’ mold, and many are right here in our backyard. In turn, organizations like SafePath depend upon the generosity of the surrounding community to support their daily operations. Acadia is honored to serve as a sponsor to events like ‘Good Eatin’, Great Cause’ and ‘Hearing Children’s Voices’ to help raise awareness about child abuse, while raising funds for SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center.”

Thanks to sponsorships from companies like Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods, SafePath is able to provide the necessary services to child abuse victims and their families at no cost.  In addition to grants from foundations and donations from individuals, corporations and community partners, SafePath plays host to two special events to raise funds and awareness to support their commendable cause. Earlier this year, the non-profit hosted the 12th Annual “Hearing Children’s Voices” Gala at the Cobb Galleria Centre with great success. SafePath’s “Good Eatin’ Great Cause” will take place in Exhibit Hall C of the Cobb Galleria Centre on Thursday, August 22 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Restaurants taking part in this culinary-centric event include Alon’s Bakery & Market, Another Broken Egg Café, C&S Oyster Bar, The Capital Grille, Capers Restaurant & Bar, Chicken and the Egg, Douceur de France, Double Zero, Food 101, Freckled & Blue, Fusco’s via Roma, Gabriel’s, Henry’s Louisiana Grill, High Road, Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes, Muss & Turners, Ocean Prime, Paper Mill Grill, Ray’s on the River, Ritter’s, Sam’s BBQ1, Seed Kitchen & Bar, Soho American Bistro, Social Vinings, Tumeric Atlanta, Watershed on Peachtree, and Whole Foods.
