The Mini Snellen tests central vision, or the bull’s eye portion of eyesight (when thinking of a ringed target). The Amsler Grid Is designed to test for a wider visual field. In addition to AMD, these screening tests also warn of other potential eye problems or diseases that may be subtle, painless and difficult to detect. These problems include cataracts, vitreous hemorrhage (new floaters), diabetic retinopathy and various forms of glaucoma. Individuals with high blood pressure are at increased risk for eye disease.
