The 22nd Annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival pours on the fun Sept. 17-22, as bourbon aficionados gather to show their appreciation for the state’s signature product: Kentucky Bourbon. The Kentucky Bourbon Chase, Sept. 18-19, is a 200-mile journey across the Bluegrass that begins at Jim Beam Distillery’s American Outpost. Enjoy the theme – “peace, love, bourbon” – and watch the runners as they wend their way through historic bourbon distilleries then across majestic horse country and into small towns colored with autumn’s changing leaves. www.BourbonChase.com

New in Bardstown this year is the Field of Terror, a 6.5-acre corn maze filled with haunted scenes. Other fall events: Kentucky Railway Museum’s Murder Mystery Theatre; bourbon and murder mystery-themed excursions aboard My Old Kentucky Dinner Train; Ghost Treks with Certified Ghost Hunter Patti Starr;a Visit With The Spirits Of Wickland, a 90-minute family-friendly tour led by psychic mediums; and Bardstown Opry, playing traditional country music Friday nights at the Blue Grass Entertainment & Exposition Complex.
