COWLINGTON, Okla. - Aug. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Star Com Media, the owners of several LPAM stations nationwide, are on the cutting edge of a new era in broadcasting, the Micro-Station.

The CEO of Star Com Media was recently quoted as saying, "The term, (micro-station), is used to describe what the FCC refers to as part 15 stations. These stations, according to them, are 'hobby stations'. They only cover a small community, but the residents of these towns and communities depend on these stations for local information.

What we have done is took these stations, that would have otherwise gone silent, and gave them new life. We have taken them and joined them all together into a network, a network that gives the listener a vast array of national and international programs but retains our core ideals. We took the concept of main-stream media and then took it to the next level by integrating those concepts to a smaller but more intimate arena, thus came the term Micro-station.

Some may say why invest in these areas, when the large broadcasting companies already have the market covered? My response to that is that they may cover a larger area, but they fail in their goals. To put it another way, they forget the average hardworking American who wants real news, not entertainment but that is exactly what they are getting out of the large radio stations, entertainment. The actual news, that you and I grew up with, is put on the back burner and I believe that Americans are fed up with this, thus are turning to the internet, social media and the micro-station for the truth.

When I started Star Com Media several years ago, I was determined to bring programs to the forefront that made you think, made you question the powers that be, either in Washington or in your own communities. When I heard about several LPAM stations about to go under, for one reason or another, I knew these stations served a vital role in their communities and if they were to go silent, the average American would be on the losing side, I was proven right. Too many of these stations went silent. I made it my personal mission to keep these stations from going under, but to do so would require several concepts borrowed from the big broadcasters. So not only did we acquire them, but centralized their operations, afforded the listener quality programs, but also gave these stations the ability to stream to a worldwide audience. Our success speaks for itself, because by October 1st of this year, 20 stations will be under the Star Com umbrella, everywhere from Maine to Washington will be served. Plus we are continually seeking more. The Micro-station is a breath of fresh air in a dying industry chewed up by corporate idiots who think with their pocket books and not what the American people want.

The micro-station is that new shot in the arm and given the response we have been getting by airing such programs as "The Ed Tyll Show", "The Making Sense Show", "The Richard Fowler Show", "Jiggy Jaguar" and a host of international programs like "The Scribble Show", "The Week in Review", "Caledonia Calling", from the UK, we give you a taste of events that effect not only you, but worldwide as well. Our listeners have told us time and time again that what we are doing here, at Star Com Media, should have been done by the big guys a long time ago. To prove our point, we have an average of 1.5 million listeners per week. These are real people who want to hear the truth, real people, worldwide, who are fed up with corporate nonsense."
