Aug. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- On August 30th Feast on History will host Feast of the Seven Fishes inspired by the traditional Christmas Eve celebration in Naples, Italy. This exciting cooking class, wine tasting and dinner for 20 people will be held at Kitchen NYC at 306 W. 51st Street at 7:30 PM.

“Some of the recipes will be prepared just as taught to me by my Campanian grandmothers while others will be updated,” said Feast on History Founder, Danielle Oteri. “Christmas Eve dinner was always my favorite night of the year while growing up and the menu is just so perfect for these late summer days. Especially if you’re staying in the city and would still like a taste of the sun and sea.”

The feast includes classics such as spaghetti alle vongole prepared classically but using the outstanding Pasta Martelli and a splash of colatura—the artisanal anchovy fish sauce made in Cetara on the Amalfi coast. Classic fried baccala will be prepared with a Peroni beer batter served with fried slices of eggplant as a riff on British fish and chips.

Christian Galliani from Wine for the 99 (http://wineforthe99.com/) will lead a tasting of 7 outstanding wines.

He commented, “I always teach that what grows together, goes together. That said, I’m going to have a couple of surprising twists in my pairings.”

Tickets are only $135 and are available directly on feastonhistory.com and on Underground Eats (https://www.undergroundeats.com) which provides access to underground restaurants, private supper clubs, speakeasies, pop-up restaurants and secret dinner parties.

Feast of the Seven Fishes is the inaugural event for the Fall season which includes A Gilded Age Feast inspired by Oteri’s research about the private dining group called the Zodiac Club (http://gothamist.com/2013/05/16/nycs_145_year_old_secret_...) and in collaboration with a major celebrity chef.
