Marketing Solutions Discuss The Importance Of Networking

Hartford, CT, August 2013 – Marketing Solutions had a business trip in from a Manhattan-based Direct Marketing Company last week. The NYC Manager visited the Hartford offices with two of his top marketing representatives to teach and be taught and it proved to be beneficial for all parties involved.

After the business trip, Marketing Solutions Managing Partner Frank Fellone travelled back to the New York office and hosted a seminar on the opportunities that are available within the industry today.

The successful networking events led to more travelling teams this week with another ten representatives visiting to the Marketing Solutions headquarters from NYC leading Fellone to wonder what stops so many business owners using networking as a way to grow their business.

Every year, more evidence comes out on the success people have using networking promote their businesses but here are four possible reasons business owners resist the benefits of networking, do you fall into one of these categories?:

1. You're not confident.
Whether the thought of interacting with strangers is paralyzing or you have low self-confidence, shyness and under-estimate what you can contribute this may be the reason you avoid networking. A successful entrepreneur is not blocked by fear and most people find that once they actually start, they not only build their businesses, they actually have a good time.

2. You're too busy.
People either don't think it's worth giving up something else to network, find it causes stress on top of their other obligations or simply believe they don't have time. Once you learn that breaking out of your routine is an enriching experience, you will find ways to make it work with your schedule.

3. You're impatient for results.
Some people deny the fact that networking works because they personally don't follow up with the people they connect with and get no results. They are impatient and don't understand the value of taking the time to build fruitful relationships. We have to cultivate good relationships that pay us back over the long term, year after year.

4. You think networking is all ‘give’.
Sometimes you can help someone out, help train their team, give them tips and then they don’t help you in return which can turn you off networking altogether. Networking is reciprocal, if both parties keep that in mind, you will be genuinely interested in getting to know each other. This interest leads to comfort, and that comfort leads to opportunities to provide advice and assistance which leads to the growth of your business.
