Cape May’s Beach Shack to Host the “Wag ‘n Swag” Doggie-Pageant

CAPE MAY, N.J. - Aug. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- On August 25^th, 2013, Beach Shack, Cape May’s foremost laid-back beachside hotel, will host a doggie-pageant runway competition to see who becomes “the face” of the Rusty Nail’s Bowser Beer for 2014! Get ready for a ‘paw-fect’ day of furry runway fun for a great cause: Animal Outreach of Cape May County.

 

Facebook fans of the Rusty Nail had the opportunity to enter The Official Rusty Nail Dog Mascot Competition between June 1 and July 31. Puppy parents submitted a photo of their pooch on the Rusty Nail Facebook page for a chance to be voted one of the ten finalists to strut their stuff on August 25^th (view the contest and finalists here: https://www.facebook.com/rustynailnj/app_599788450050788). The “best in show” winner will be the new face of the Rusty Nail Doggy Ale for the 2014 season, while their proud parent(s) will take home a $250 Beach Shack gift certificate. The winner of each of the five sub-categories will also not leave empty handed.

Celebrity New York dog stylist, Jorge Bendersky (star of Animal Planet’s The Groomer Has It, with appearances on Regis & Kelly, The Today Show, E! News) will be leading a panel of judges who include:

-        Bridget Martin, 14 year-old volunteer at Animal Outreach of Cape May County

-        Poodle parents, Heather Padgett & Matt Gilmore

-        Sandy Montano, Beach Shack General Manager

-        Dana Humphrey, uber New York Pet Publicist (Whitegate PR)

 

Competition Categories will include:

-        Mommy/Daddy & me - fun costumes/matching looks welcome!

-        Best Style - watch our furry contestant “strut” their stuff

-        Tricks – let’s see what they can do

-        Musical Chairs - which pup will be the last to “sit”?

-        Beer Chugging Contest – beer for dogs, of course!

-        Best In Show

 

Leading up to the runway show, Jorge will be offering Glitter Tattoos to our stylish canines, while Dog Fashion Spa will be offerings colorful pawdicures. There will be a suggested donation of $25 to Animal Outreach of Cape May County.
