For the first time ever, users will be able to access a service which can provide them with true high-quality scanning that will be outputing either color, grayscale or black and white images for books that have a page format ranging from A5 to A4. File types will include JPG Image File Format, OCR PDF, Word Document Format, ePub and Kindle. The resulting scans will be accessibile to PC's and also mobile devices.
The standards of quality, the company say, will be "unmatched". "For the first time, a company will be using robotic book scanning devices to bring it's services directly to the end-user", says the company's spokesman, Paul Adrian. Mr Paul Adrian supported his statements with the argument of having a different and superior scanning technology, coupled with advanced image processing software.
The service will be available to all of the European Union, including the 28 member states. Customers will be able to opt for company invoicing and thus not paying the VAT tax because of intra-state EU laws. The company argues that the need for book scanning in companies is growing, especially in the field of eBook providers and audiobook creators. The company is confident that this concept of retail "boutique" scanning is the way to go for the European market. It will allow customers that do not have a contract with the scanning company to scan any number of books at any given time with no monthly obligations.
The process is fully automatic, the users can pay for the scans through PayPal: they can opt to pay by credit card or buy a PayPal account. The service provider offers several types of shipping from DPD Express(3 business days) to economy shipping which takes approximately 10 working days. The company hopes to extend it's online service in multiple languages in order to have a better reach on the European Market in the near future.
