Follow on Google News | Party Wall Surveyor training course gains national recognitionA course run by PartyWallSurveyors.org on the Interpretation and Application of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, has recently been approved as an accredited course by Cskills Awards, the awarding organisation of the Construction Industry Training Board.
By: PartyWallSurveyors.org Sue Reeman The Act requires that surveyors be appointed to resolve any disputes that arise in connection with works falling under its ambit but does not require a surveyor to be professionally qualified. In keeping with that ethos, no formal qualifications are necessary for entry to the course. The Cskills Awards accredited course has two stages – attendance on a two day intensive course followed by a post-course written assessment. Candidates must successfully complete both stages to gain a certificate branded by PartyWallSurveyors.org and Cskills Awards. The assessment, to be completed in a candidate’s own time, is not a first time pass or fail memory test but, rather, requires a candidate to develop appropriate solutions to real world problems. The first opportunity to take the accredited course will be during September 2013 in central London. The Course Director, Peter Worman, commented “Our course has been running successfully for a number of years, so we are not ‘new kids on the block’, but this approbation is a very important step forward for the future. Our intent has always been to promote best practice in the field of party wall surveying and national recognition of the value of the course we teach goes a long way to achieving that goal. Cskills Awards, the awarding organisation of CITB , have been extremely supportive and, thanks to them, we are now able to offer a nationally accredited training course in this field”. About PartyWallSurveyors.org PartyWallSurveyors.org has run party wall surveyor training courses throughout England and Wales, the geographical area to which the Party Wall etc. Act applies, since 2010.
