Hashtag Lunchbag: Nationally Recognized Social Media Wave Comes To Washington, D.c.

WASHINGTON - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- What:   Hundreds of residents in Washington, D.C. will be treated to a free lunch on Sunday August 11, 2013 thanks to 100+ generous volunteers taking part in Hashtag Lunchbag : DC Edition. The social media charity movement started in Los Angeles and has quickly gone viral nationwide. The program aims to use social media to bring awareness to hunger in the hopes of eliminating it.

Who: The #HashtagLunchbag movement was born on Christmas Day 2012 in a Los Angeles apartment with just a small group of friends. The intent was simple: to deliver a hearty & balanced meal prepared with their own hands to their local homeless community. This year, WPGC radio personality Sunniandthecity and Public relations consultant Tiffanie Wagner have made it their mission to bring the movement to the nations capital.
 
When:  Sunday August 11, 2013
             10:00 am volunteers will gather to assemble lunch bags
             12:00 pm volunteers will head out into the community for distribution
