Follow on Google News | Bill De Blasio And Mercedes Narcisse Unite For All New Yorkers– Today, Bill de Blasio and Caribbean American activist and City Council Candidate Mercedes Narcisse announced their commitment to working together for a stronger New York.
By: Pr2Politics "This city needs a mayor who has a proven track record of fighting for immigrant and working families. Through his unyielding efforts to save Brooklyn's community hospitals, Bill de Blasio has shown he is such a leader," said Mercedes Narcisse. "While for over a decade City Hall has ignored the needs of immigrant neighborhoods, “I am excited to support Mercedes for City Council,” said Bill de Blasio. “Mercedes has long been an activist in both Brooklyn and the Caribbean American community, leading the revitalization of Avenue L business strip and other communities in the 46th District. As a single mother of five, a small business owner and Registered Nurse for over 20 years she will be an asset to the City Council. After 12 years of Bloomberg policies, New York City deserves a new path that will tackle income inequality, and I am proud to stand with Mercedes to stop our slide toward a Tale of Two Cities.” Mercedes Narcisse is a candidate for City Council's 46th District. She is the Founder and President of the Avenue L Merchants Association and has built community coalitions throughout Brooklyn, including, Canarsie Bridges, Women’s Caucus and the National Association for the Advancement of Haitians. She is a former President of the 41st Assembly District Democratic Club and a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) - Brooklyn Chapter. She is the owner of Statewide Medical and Surgical Supplies, Inc. a small medical supplies business in the district. End
