Jack Dorsey Has New Merchant Services Competition From Electronic Merchant Services

Electronic Merchant Services (EMS) has evolved Dorsey's flat rate merchant account concept to include four flat rate options, telephone customer service and often overlooked business compliance certification.

SAN DIMAS, Calif. - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Jack Dorsey, creator of Twitter, masterminded a flat rate micro merchant account concept and founded Square.   Small merchant accounts with flat rate pricing gained momentum in 2010. Square quickly grew to over one million merchant accounts in less than two years.  Square was able to advance micro merchant accounts with easy to understand pricing.   Square, through a master aggregate merchant account cut fees to new lows. Product costs were reduced by adding a card reader which plugs into an existing customer iPhone or iPad.  Application set up process was made easy by an on online format.  Jack Dorsey a media genius made payment acceptance "cool".   Square's business model in the end left room for competition and evolution.

Electronic Merchant Services (EMS) has filled voids left by Square.  EMS has taken small merchant flat rate pricing concept to the next level.  Typically, flat rate pricing had bare bones a la carte features leaving out telephone customer service and required merchant compliance certificate.  EMS has evolved the flat rate pricing model to include full merchant account services normally reserved for larger businesses. EMS's has highlighted 24/7 telephone customer service, bank affiliation, no predefined thresholds for funds holding, full suite of POS options, PCI certification/coverage and multiple flat rate programs. "Being able to talk one on one with someone who can help you is important to business owners" said Matt at EMS's customer service department.

Flat rate pricing is welcome by many business owners because it’s an easy to understand. Merchants today have a decreased tolerance for complexity.  However, one-rate-fit's-all leaves many businesses paying high fees.  Flat rate pricing is now strategically aligned for business size and need.  Electronic Merchant Services has launched flat rate pricing taking into consideration average ticket and monthly volume.  By optimizing flat rate pricing into one of four categories business owners are realizing the lowest merchant services cost in the industry.

EMS has also advanced the flat rate model by including compliance certification.  Most business owners today don't meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements.  Requirements typically aren't met because business owners don’t know or understand their responsibilities when handling customer credit card data.  Electronic Merchant Services has included in their service merchant PCI certification.  Without EMS's included PCI compliance merchants would pay annually hundreds of dollars per year to get their certificate.

EMS added advanced transaction processing beyond smartphones. Credit card transactions with EMS's flat rate pricing can be authorized on a virtual terminal, point of sale credit card terminal and even ecommerce websites.  In addition to credit card acceptance EMS's flat rate pricing includes optional electronic check service, electronic gift card, electronic benefits transfer and dynamic currency conversion.
