Theater offers fun, affordable classes for students of all ages

ORLANDO, Fla. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF has officially opened registration for youth and teen classes during Fall 2013, Winter 2014, and Spring 2014. All six-week sessions meet on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and are available for students, ages 4 to 18, for a fee of $160. Space can be reserved by calling the Box Office at  (407) 447-1700, online at www.orlandoshakes.org, or in person at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 East Rollins Street in Orlando’s historic Loch Haven Park.

Orlando Shakes offers classes for every age and level of experience. Younger students use their imagination to go on new adventures in Make Believe Adventurers and Prince and Princess Shakespeare. Elementary age children discover the building blocks of acting in Magic Tree House Adventures and Pirate Girl Meets Robin Hood. Middle school students practice basic stage combat in Shakespeare Smackdown, and Auditioning with Shakespeare helps older teens conquer their auditioning fears and land that dream role.

“Orlando Shakes Education is gearing up for another awesome season starting with youth classes that will give your imagination a workout and teen classes designed to sharpen your acting skills!” said Director of Education Anne Hering. “Adult actors should check out our affordable one-on-one training for audition prep. There's something for everyone!”

All Orlando Shakes youth and teen classes include weekly homework sheets to help parents track their students’ progress, with the culmination of a final workshop presentation in front of family and friends. For detailed class descriptions, schedules, and frequently asked questions visit www.orlandoshakes.org/education.
