REDONDO BEACH, Calif. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Dirty Halos is an important documentary exposing the secret world of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), headquartered on the border of southern Utah and northern Arizona. The film is near completion. See http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dirty-halos for details.

In Dirty Halos, the viewer joins Amber Dawn Lee, former renegade cult member, as she enters the secretive, shocking world of the Mormon fundamentalist mother-cult from which her own cult spun away. She goes in search of the roots of her own upbringing. The film does a masterful job of intertwining the story of Amber Dawn Lee and the story of Warren Jeffs. Although incarcerated for molesting children in the group, from prison Jeffs still wields complete power over his members down to minute details of their lives. Discover what grips them into total submission to this evil man and his bizarre, random edicts, the plight of women and children trapped in this cult . . . and what could free them.

"I walked in the house and my children screamed and ran away as if I were the devil. This is what they do. They teach children that once a man has been told to leave that he is evil, and the children are given to another man to call father."  Lorin Holm ~ FLDS Apostate

"Warren would molest them, and he would do it under the guise of religion." Sam Brower, author of Prophet's Prey

"I do consider Warren Jeffs to be a pedophile and primarily driven by that."  Troy Bowles ~ Executive Director, Cosmopolitan Human Rights Services

“They obey without question; they blindly follow. They will turn their daughters over at the door (for impregnation) and say: ‘Okay, here’s my daughter. She’s going through puberty now.'" Ross Chatwin ~ FLDS Apostate

"Warren raped me when I was around 5 or 6 years old." Brent Jeffs ~ Warren Jeffs' nephew and author of Lost Boy

“The leadership can easily do whatever they please. Many, many children don't have any of their parents involved in their lives." -  Recent FLDS Apostate

Join Amber in Dirty Halos, as she embarks upon her journey. In spite of her rational fears of entering a dangerously secretive society, she is driven to search for truth about her own upbringing in the town that serves as headquarters for the cult that her group splintered away from.

Although the FLDS are usually vehemently closed to outsiders, and especially the media, Amber made her way to the inside because of her similar background. The resulting documentary shows many current and former members of the cult as they opened their homes and hearts to share with Amber. She created an uncanny bond with the FLDS and its exiles, and what she discovered behind the proverbial walls of the compound was even darker than she could have imagined. What Warren Jeffs and his top leadership, known as "The God Squad," have done in the name of redemption has created a living hell for its followers.

Dirty Halos exposes the pain endured by those held captive by a so-called God. Join Amber as her calling to this project evolves. Forced to face the demons of her past on her first visit back to Utah since running away as a teen, Amber finds light at the end of her journey. That light not only provides her own life with a redemptive purpose, but allows her reach out to victims with a solution to freedom from what has trapped them in this enslavement. You can be a part of that solution.
