Carlisle Truck Nationals
CARLISLE, Pa. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The Carlisle Truck Nationals is a parking lot party of epic proportions annually at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.  The 2013 offering, August 2-4, once again showcased trucks of all shapes, sizes, styles and eras.  With lowered and lifted trucks, monster trucks, big rigs and more, those who came to Carlisle had a full weekend's worth of trucking excitement to keep them occupied.  In addition to the trucks on display, there were club gatherings, activities for families and the show even wrapped with a pair of awards parades, one for the big rigs and one for every other truck owner.

Show weekend unofficially started Thursday with set-up day, allowing vendors and select truck owners to come onsite and get situated.  It also allowed the midway to get set with great vendors like LMC Truck, Skyjacker, Mickey Thompson, the Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA), RV 4 Wheel Parts, Ford Super Duty and many more.  Speaking of the LTAA and RV 4 Wheel Parts, they were back in 2013 with another great partnership that saw a stock Jeep Rubicon get transformed into a show worthy, off-road gem.  Joining the midway partners were Progressive Commercial Insurance who, for the second consecutive year, presented the Big Rig Show and Shine.  Each rig, positioned on the east and southeast side of the grounds highlighted the trucking industry, the backbone of our society.

Additional weekend highlights included the off-road course with Rausch Creek Off Road Park, a van display via CustomVan.com, the Willys Jeep showcase within Building Y and, of course, the monster trucks were well represented with Stone Crusher, Hooked, Megasauars and Virginia Giant wowing adults and children alike.  Family fun was also showcased in and around the Kids at Carlisle area with Road and Rock RC, BERG Toys and all the family thrills that come with spending time in the kids’ zone.

The weekend wouldn't be complete without live music and once again it was a big part of the show.  Carlisle radio station Red 102.3 was the weekend stage sponsor and welcomed a pair of bands, the Cold Wilbur Band Friday and Chris Woodward on Saturday.  Also on Saturday night, the Holt Twins and TwinSister blended Classic Rock & Folk Music to entertain the big rig owners, vanners and others who were staying late for the event and frequently make Carlisle a weekend home away from home.

Finally, the awards parade wrapped the weekend.  Sunny skies on Sunday provided one final go around for guests via half price Sunday and the truck owners and vendors who made Sunday a part of their weekend all had a great time, with many owners taking home awards.  In all, the Truck Nationals remained the family-friendly fun time that it's been since 1991.  Next year's event is already in the planning stages so be sure to mark August 1-3, 2014 on your calendar.
