CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Aug. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Charlotte’s yummiest international food-fest of the year is back for its 11th season! Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Taste of the World, a food tour that represents countries across five continents. The tour takes guests on an enchanting expedition of the locally owned ethnic restaurants throughout the International District of east Charlotte. This event will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013, with Early Bird Registration starting at 4:30 PM and activities running until 9:30 PM.

Taste of the World was created and is hosted by E.A.S.T., a volunteer organization with representation from business, non-profits and neighborhoods. E.A.S.T. is dedicated to encouraging economic growth along the east Charlotte business corridors.

Taste of the World Committee Chairperson John Hadley states, "This event just keeps getting better every year, and I think it is a great way of showcasing the east side. We want to thank all of our Taste of the World sponsors. Their involvement reflects their support for the positive economic growth and livability of east Charlotte, as well as for the communities and neighbors within.”

The evening begins at The VanLandingham Estate with a welcoming registration and reception featuring tours of the Estate & Gardens, music, drinks and more. Guests will then board coach tour buses and be escorted to three of the over 23 participating restaurants throughout east Charlotte. Community Guides will provide fun facts and information about the east Charlotte route along which each bus will be traveling. At each restaurant, guests will enjoy a special selection of food samplings from that restaurant’s culture, as well as hear the owner’s stories and history about that culture and cuisine. Guests then return to The VanLandingham Estate for a huge dessert reception, music, prizes and festivities.

Tickets are $40 per person. The popularity of this event has grown exponentially and tickets go very fast. Read about each of the tantalizing 2013 restaurants on the E.A.S.T. website and revisit the website often to read about more as they are added.
