Renouned Boxer Juan Estrata Successfuly Defends His WBO Flyweight & WBA Super World Flyweight Titles

Aug. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA  — Latin Sports, a leading Hispanic Sports Promotions and Management Company announced that its premier Boxing Talent, Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada successfully defended his WBO Flyweight and WBA Super World Flyweight Titles in a resounding victory against Milan Melindo this past Saturday, July 27 in Macau, China.  This event was broadcast on HBO2 and the boxing match received wide acclaim and media attention as fans watched in breathless anticipation to see who would come out on top.  Commentators including George Foreman, were very favorable in their assessment of Estrada’s outstanding performance in the ring.  The fight took place at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China and Top Rank was the promoter.  The highly respected founder and CEO of Top Rank, Bob Arum predicted this match could easily be a candidate for Fight of the Year!

This boxing match was Estradas's first Title Defense since upsetting former champion Brian Viloria at the Venetian in Macau on April 6th of this year.  With this victory, Estrada's record moved to 25-2-0 with 17 of the victories by way of Knock Out. The loss was the first blemish on Melindo's record, who is now 29-1-0 with 11 KOs.  

In both fights Estrada seemed to get stronger as the fights progressed. Melindo was floored for the first time in his pro career by a vicious right to the chin by Estrada at the end of the 11th round.  Estrada won the 12 round bout by unanimous decision.  The final scores of the judges were 117-109, 118-109 and 118-109.
