RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Brenner-Fiedler Partners With the Economic & Workforce Training Department of Riverside Community College District (RCCD)

Riverside, Ca – BRENNER-FIEDLER, a local pneumatics and automation components distributor headquartered in Riverside, California, has recently partnered with Robert Grajeda and Patricia Carlson from the Economic & Workforce Training Department of Riverside Community College District (RCCD) to increase the skill levels of employees and to improve efficiency and performance within the company. The program is designed to help local businesses grow through improved employee performance and reduced operating costs. With a goal of helping employers stay competitive while also increasing the skill level of employees, the program offers courses in Manufacturing Processes, Leadership/Management, Communication Skills and Technical Training.

RCCD Economic Development and Workforce Training has provided the training to Brenner-Fiedler through its Responsive Training Fund (RTF) program and the company is currently working with Customized Training Solutions Specialists for RCCD's Economic Development and Workforce Training on implementing LEAN practices into Brenner-Fiedler’s business model. In particular, the 5S system (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), has brought accuracy, efficiency and consistency to the company. Warehouse staff is implementing concepts such as Velocity Slotting (parts that are used the most are stored where they are used the most) as well as "One Bin, One Location" in which shelf spacing is divided by item and each item is given its own unique location. According to Production Associate, Guillermo Keeme, "That one bin, one location changed everything".

Brenner-Fiedler CEO, Jim Kloman, expands on this sentiment, "We are very happy to be working with the Ecomonic & Workforce Training Department and RCCD's Customized Training Solutions Specialists. The 5S program has made our warehouse more efficient, organized and much faster.
