Material for the preparation of the new type of DELE exams (B1/B2)

VALENCIA, Spain - Aug. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Valencia. There is not much time remaining until the next extraordinary exam date of the Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (http://diplomas.cervantes.es/). At 23 of august hundreds of Spanish language learners can take the exam, the only one that is recognized internationally and is valid lifelong. Hence, it is not surprising that the exam candidates want to be prepared perfectly to pass the exam in any event.

But what to do when there is no appropriate material for preparation? The new DELE exams for the levels B1 and B2 will appear in a new format from august 2013. They will include a renewed structure and design, as well as new types of exercises and tests; that are all orientated on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Many students face an unpleasant surprise, because they cannot find any mock exams of the new DELE exams to prepare themselves appropriately, because the publishers did not publish any exam and the Instituto Cervantes (http://www.cervantes.es/default.htm) only offers one mock exam in the internet.

As the students need the material urgently, some Spanish schools decided to create their own material. On the one hand the material will be valuable for the students and on the other hand it is a help for the teachers who will teach the preparation classes of the DELE exams.

The Spanish school Costa de Valencia (http://www.costadevalencia.com/en/1-learn-spanish-spain/1...) is one of the language schools that decided to develop examples for the new DELE B1 and B2 exams. The group of teachers, who created the material, was part of the examination board of previous DELE exams and uses as its basis the Guía del Examen and the Model 0, which have been published by the Instituto Cervantes. All of the mock exams are based on prior exams and include the audio files for the listening comprehension, which can be downloaded.

“I have to pass this exam in any event” – explains Andreas, one of the students who participate in a preparation course to make the DELE  B2 exam – “I need it to study at University. I have searched a lot in the internet and in book shops, but I could not find appropriate material to practice for the renewed exam. Finally, I decided to take a preparation class for DELE B2. To my satisfaction, I detected that the school has material that helps me to become familiar with the exercise types. As I do not have much time to take classes because of my complicated working hours, the school offers additionally the possibility to download the mock exams and to learn individually. This is helpful for the exercises for listening comprehension, which is the most difficult for me.”

To inform the students even better, the language school established a web page where one free exam is available. One can also buy further DELE exams to be well prepared for the exam.
