Arod Banned for Life from MLB? How Could Major League Baseball Players Union Stand for That?

Alex Rodriguez is being targeted to be banned for life by commissioner Bud Selig. How could this be? Arod has never tested positive before and this is not what the players signed up for in the collective bargaining drug agreement.

July 31, 2013 - PRLog -- New York, NY - Aug. 1, 2013- Like him or hate him, what is happening to Alex Rodriguez, known to most as Arod, is the biggest disgrace in progessional sports history says Legal-Bay CEO, Chris Janish an avid baseball fan.  Bud Selig, the commissioner of Baseball -the man who let steriods run rampant under his watch- now thinks he is judge and jury on who gets to play ball an who doesn't.  Selig has been leaking information that he intends to ban Rodriguez for life for what is simply clear violations of the drug policy.  A policy that Selig intends to usurp, even though it was collectively bargained with the players union.

So, I'm curious, since when do drug violations become a lifetime banishment and an infringment on Alex Rodriguez's constitutional rights to earn a living?  Arod is one of the most talented players on earth?  Last I check this was America, and no one was comiing to see Bud Selig play baseball.  Although good 'ol Bud did botch the only All Star game to end in a tie.  But, that's besides the point.

The point is Bud Selig better be prepared to enter a whole new realm of exposure in federal court in the event that he intends to run baseball like a dictator.  Bud Selig's tenure as the commissoner of baseball has been pretty horrific, so maybe Bud wants to go out with a bang.

The truth is everything under his watch has been a disgrace.  And so how is anyone in baseball allowing him to not only destroy a player, but distroy the entire MLB brand?  Last I checked, attendence is down accross the board Bud.  This isn't because of steriods in the game, its because you have destroyed your own brand by going on overkill with your steriods witch hunt.  Just look at your attendance numbers Bud, they will not go up after you rid the game of a few offender: They will go down.  Bet on it.

I'm still trying to figure out, who in the hell gave Bud Selig -a possible ally to the NY Yankee's quest to get under the $175MM salary cap next year- the power to say who goes and who stays?  Alex is not perfect, but he is now the piariah of MLB  because Bud Selig has had his feeling hurt that he lied to him?  And if the MLB players Union, the guys who fought so hard under Donald Fehr to get the best Union deals in the hsitory of sports, don't stand up for Arod then the baseball union will never be the same.

Bud Selig has decided what is best for the game.  Maybe he should realize that without Alex, the Yankees never drew more than 4 Million fans.  And they never will in the near future if he is banned.  They called the original Yankee Stadium the house that Ruth built, well I call the new Yankee Stadium the house that Arod built.  The numbers don't lie.

Yes, I am an Alex Rodriguez Fan. But more importantly I am a baseball fan.  And I am a fan of equality and due process that our country was built on.  And what we are seeing is a mad man who has been given too much power and needs to be removed as the commissioner of baseball immeadiately.

Let it go Bud, it is only steriods.  Go to the Jersey shore and you will see hundreds of guys making a lot less than Arod doing them.  There are hunderds of players you never caught and never will.  The punishments are laid out in the drug clauses.  If you decide to go down this road of utter insanity, then you too must face the music of scrutiny from the players of this game and more importantly the fans who come to see them.  And yes Bud, as you try to ruin the legacy of Alex Rodriguez, be careful your legacy -or lack there of- will be known as the worst commissioner in the history of the game.  But then again, who cares about you when it is all said and done.
