Follow on Google News | New Guidebook Covers Photography in Scenic SeattleEbook Provides Details to More than 80 Publicly Available Scenic Locations within the City of Seattle
"Seattle is one of the most scenic citys in the United States, if not the world," said Joe Becker, the author of Scenic Seattle. "After seeing there wasn't a good guidebook available for the city, I wanted to create one that gives people advice on where to find, and how to photograph, all the beautiful places in Seattle." The book is designed to guide visitors, as well as locals, to the best historical spots, parks and viewpoints, architecture, landscapes, and cityscapes that Seattle has to offer. The book gives directions, provides guide maps, and offers photographic advice on how and when to shoot the city's attractions. Areas covered include Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, downtown, the waterfront, South Lake Union, the University of Washington, the Chinatown-International District, and West Seattle. Specific spots covered include the Space Needle, the EMP, Pioneer Square, Washington State ferries, the Great Wheel, Union Station, the Center for Wooden Boats, Discovery Park, Fishermen's Terminal, the Hiram Chittenden Locks, Gasworks Park, Fremont, Volunteer Park, Kubota Garden, Alki Beach, the Museum of Flight, a dozen viewpoints, and more. The ebook is currently available at major ebook retailers including Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/ About Joe Becker: Joe Becker is an award-winning freelance photographer and author living in Tacoma, Washington. A Washington native, he started taking photographs at an early age while on family vacations throughout the western United States. His first camera was a Kodak Instamatic, from which he graduated to a twin-lens reflex camera, and a more standard film SLR in his teens. He started shooting exclusively digital in 2005. He currently shoots with Canon equipment. Though his portfolio contains images from around the world, Joe holds a special love for the Pacific Northwest and the American Southwest, (which led to the name of his photographic company, Seldom Seen Photography, after a fictional character from southern Utah). Joe’s images have been published by the National Geographic Society, Washington State Tourism, EOS Magazine, Wild West magazine, Northwest Travel Magazine, and others.
