Follow on Google News | Pure Texas Photo Competition to Highlight the Beauty of Central TexasWhat is pure Texas? The Texas Brazos Trail, a Central Texas tourism organization, is putting on the first-ever Pure Texas Photo Competition with over $2,000 in cash prizes.
The competition begins August 5th and will run until August 31. Contestants can submit up to three photos through the organization’s Facebook page: Facebook.com/ The organization is looking for full-color digital images that showcase the variety of the events, people, nature and architecture of the Texas Brazos Trail Region. From festivals, carnivals, rodeos, celebrations, to the downtowns, cities, people and landscapes that characterize Central Texas, the contest is intended to raise awareness of the area as a travel destination. “The one tip I would give photographers is to keep in mind that we are looking for photographs that will entice people to visit Central Texas,” The images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and support for the mission of the Texas Brazos Trail Region. The grand prize will be a reward of $500, two blue ribbons winners will be given $250, and five red ribbons winners will receive $100. A fan favorite will receive $100, and other destinations and cities will be sponsoring other prizes. The rules can be found online on the Texas Brazos Trail website (TexasBrazosTrail.com) The Texas Brazos Trail is a regional tourism initiative of the award winning Heritage Trails Program of the Texas Historical Commission. The program seeks to increase economic development in our regional communities through increased tourism and historic preservation. The Texas Brazos Trail Region includes the following counties: Bastrop, Bell, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Grimes, Hamilton, Lee, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Madison, Milam, Robertson and Williamson.
