ASHEVILLE, N.C. - July 31, 2013 - PRLog -- ASHEVILLE, NC -- July 31, 2013. Asheville-based electropop acts STEREOSPREAD and E8 Electronique team up with Atlanta’s electronic sensation, Sonen, for an evening of sonic revelry and visual exhilaration at the Emerald Lounge on August 23, 2013. The theme of the night is glow-in-the-dark featuring hoop dancers, lasers, fog machines, and more! Patrons are encouraged to wear their own glowing attire and to bring glow sticks.

James Hopkins and Sara Snyder of STEREOSPREAD blend the sounds of triphop, EDM, and 80‘s electropop to create ear-grabbing songs that span the spectrum of human emotion. Snyder’s vocal stylings range from a subdued, beautiful whisper reminiscent of The XX to the bombast of Florence + The Machine. STEREOSPREAD’s single “Frozen” is scheduled to be released through Australia’s DAGA Records this summer, featuring a remix by esteemed producer Grantwho.

Hailing from Atlanta, Sonen brings deeply resonant bass lines, vintage tinged strings and harmonious male-female vocals come together to form a seductive, compelling sound that will consume listeners entirely and leave them sweaty and satisfied. Following a 2010 EP release, SONEN has shared the stage with artists such as Diplo, STRFKR, Flying Lotus, Dam Funk, and Casio Kids; developing a reputation for, as The Big Beat so astutely observed, “turning the kids into a sweaty mess”. Sonen features duo Keith Evans and Holly Mullinax supported by drummer Noel Goff.

Joining STEREOSPREAD and Sonen will be local Asheville talent Rebecca Smith-Finlay as E8 Electronique, whose detuned pianos, heavy synth bass lines, and glitchy samples fuse old world and new world styles. Ranging from Bach to Bassnectar, E8 is the thoughtful fusion of a classical symmetry with dance music. In addition to her solo production, Rebecca writes and performs synth melodies for the Asheville electronica act "Graviton Project." She also plays keyboards in local indie band "Camp David."

August 23, 2013. Doors open at 8:30PM. Ages 21 and up. 112 N Lexington Ave, Asheville, NC 28801.
