Stone Pony Showcase for Scott Weiland CANCELLED

BRICK, N.J. - July 31, 2013 - PRLog -- Asbury Park, NJ (7-31-2013) – Late yesterday evening a message came in from The Stone Pony office with the unfortunate news that the Scott Weiland showcase set for this the coming Sunday, August 4, has been cancelled and will not be held.  Club management was apologetic over the matter as they, as well as some of the associated artists worked very hard to promote the event on extremely short notice.

Details on the matter point to some sort of coordination issue between the club and the Scott Weiland camp.  As some of us may be aware, Scott Weiland has been a buzz in the recent media regarding his seemingly permanent separation from Stone Temple Pilots and the fact the band is now touring with a new singer.  Whether the division has played a role in the matter is unclear, however, STP will be playing another NJ venue about two weeks after Scott’s appearance in Asbury Park.  

Kites And Lightning wishes to thank everyone involved in trying to make this event happen including The Stone Pony management, The K&L technical crew and, most of all, the fans. There was a very large response from their fans both publicly and privately in support of this event which spoke volumes to the band.

In response to the situation, The Stone Pony told Kite And Lightning that they will be invited back sometime in the near future.  A date has not been set although they may have something to announce shortly.

Show Dates:

In response to their early summer shows, two very exciting dates have been added to the band calendar for the upcoming months.  Friday August 9, 2013 Kites And Lightning will be appearing in Long Branch, NJ at The Brighton Bar with Stardog Champion (members of Breaking Benjamin) and on Thursday September 5, 2013 the band will be returning to The Brighton Bar where they will be appearing with Sponge.  Tickets are expected to be released soon.  Keep watching the website or Facebook (see below) for availability.

Fans can also hear and see more about the band through its Reverbnation website at http://www.ReverbNation.com/KitesAndLightningNJ.  Reverbnation is a social media outlet for both the band and the fans.  Here, fans have access to new music and general merchandise from the band while providing the band access to the local and national music industry.  The combination offers a unique and powerful network.
