Recharging the E-port controller is simple and straightforward, and is done in the same way as you’d recharge your mobile phone or laptop. “An indicator light appears when you need to recharge, although you don’t have to do it immediately, as it will keep on working for some time after the light first comes on. Then you just take the the E-port controller out of the wall plate and plug it in to a power point, using the charger that comes with it.”

As an alternative, the system is also available with an E-trans RF (radio frequency) option, which allows you to control several E-ports from a single E-trans RF remote unit.

“The ODS E-series is very simple to use, and it can be programmed quickly and easily, so that just about anyone can use it. You can also stop or start your shutters in any position, so you also have the same sort of control as you would have with a manual winder system,” said Joe Anastasi.

The system can be operated by a single E-port controller that can be moved between wall plates, reducing initial installation costs, while further power packs can be added later if and when required. A further advantage is that the E-series ODS operates independently of mains power, and so in an emergency it won’t be affected by power cuts and so your shutters can always be opened or closed in any circumstances.
