The unit’s main supply route was a road that was frequently ambushed and mined to hamper resupply efforts. The term grey feather was given to each man who served unselfishly in the unit, because all watched each other’s back during conflict.

Grey Feathers describes the true events and shows how this brave unit responded and overcome the overwhelming odds against survival. It also shows the difficulties of split-second decision-making under fire. Support units such as the helicopter gunships, F-4 Phantom pilots, supply transporters, armored vehicles, naval artillery, MedEvac helicopters, and field hospitals performed admirably. All earned their Grey Feathers – with distinction and honor.
