NEW YORK - July 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Green Power Technology, LLC, the nation’s largest authorized distributor of ChargePoint®, is more than keeping up with the growing demand of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Having installed over 1500 stations in the Northeast over the last 6 years, they are the largest supplier with the longest history in the Northeastern area. With the electric car becoming more popular the demand for these stations will continue to grow.

In 2013 the sales of EVs have grown 40 percent but that number is expected to grow further. BMW has just released its own version of an EV, the BMW i3. With this car expecting to hit markets within the year, Green Power Technology is preparing for this percentage to rise. This battery-operated car is being targeted toward the urban commuter who wants a sustainable car that is emission free. With its German automaker promising the new car to be, “agile and engaging to drive, yet ideally suited for dense urban areas,” the i3 will be one of the first cars to be made from a super light carbon fiber material.  This car will be powered by a synchronous electric motor developed by BMW and though the official charging times haven’t been released the carmaker did say that a 480-volt quick charger battery could be 80 percent recharged in 20 minutes.

Green Power Technology is prepared for this car to jump start - no pun intended -  a higher rate in sales. This will occur by offering multiple charging station solutions ranging from residential to the charging needs offered by corporate office parks. Green Power Technology not only distributes charging units, but also works with city planners, green fleet operators, and consumers to add the resource of the ChargePoint Network to their area. This allows for an EV driver to find and reserve a charging station near them. Solutions like this for Electric Vehicle operators are becoming more readily available due to efforts by Green Power Technology.
