Simeio launches Delivery Management System

Popular addition to Site Roster Control platform enables companies and suppliers to efficiently self-manage and co-ordinate deliveries in one place

July 30, 2013 - PRLog -- London, UK –Simeio, thepioneer in site roster control software, has announced the availability of its Delivery Management System for handling site deliveries by suppliers. Designed to support the efficient and safe off-loading of materials, from the agreed arrival time through to the equipment needed to move it to its final location on site, the system automates delivery-related processes and makes all relevant information available online. This enables companies and suppliers to self-manage and co-ordinate deliveries in one place.

The Delivery Management System is the latest product to be added to Simeio’s product portfolio, which includes the use of biometrics for access control, carbon measurement, health and safety compliance, and muster points for fire regulations. It allows a firm’s supply chain to login online and book and manage deliveries to construction sites. It also provides online access to project details such as which equipment is available at specific delivery gates, or any specific instructions or missing items that might be required by the site. Each delivery request made by a supplier is emailed automatically to the main contractor to reserve a diary slot. The contractor can then accept, edit or reject these requests, allowing them to carefully plan, co-ordinate and report on all site-based logistics.

“The actions and movements of people create the majority of project risks on a construction site, including receipt of an incorrect delivery at the wrong location,” says Ollie McGovern, managing director, Simeio. “We’ve developed the Delivery Management System in response to customer demand and worked closely with users to build a comprehensive solution meeting the practical challenges of managing deliveries across multiple construction sites and projects running simultaneously.”

The Delivery Management System integrates seamlessly with Simeio’s cloud-based Site Roster Control solution, which enables firms to record, monitor and report on the movement of people on construction projects and is accessible from any site, head office or smartphone. For example, ‘Gate Keepers’ can use Simeio’s access control applications to check and sign-off deliveries, removing the need for any paper. This means that the entire management of personnel and materials on a project can be performed from one place. Alerts can be set up to automatically notify management or suppliers of any changes to delivery details, while the system can also calculate business travel for carbon emissions for those that need it.

“With Site Roster Control, you get a complete overview of the activities of everyone on site, enabling you to identify and review risks, make responsive, informed decisions and get on with completing projects,” continues McGovern. “The addition of the Delivery Management System ensures that our platform capability continues to evolve, providing professional construction companies and their suppliers with access to real-time business intelligence that improves their efficiency and profitability and ensures legal compliance and risk mitigation.”
