The opportunity to bring Asian military leaders together and discuss strategies for armoured vehicle survivability is rare indeed; but sometimes it does happen. They will have that chance in Singapore in October at the Armoured Vehicles Asia 2013.

July 30, 2013 - PRLog -- As recently reported in Defence IQ, “the market in Asia will be worth $5.4 billion in 2021, up from $4.4 billion in 2011. The vast majority of this will likely be spent on tactical trucks, main battle tanks (MBTs) and armoured personnel carriers (APCs).”

Defence IQ continued, “the most lucrative and exciting emerging armoured vehicle markets, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand were all identified by respondents as key growth markets over the next decade.”

Participants are excited to hear exactly how these greatly expanded armoured budgets are being utilized. While some countries are focused on purchasing brand new armoured vehicles, others are more focused on upgrading existing fleets. The question becomes: who is purchasing and who is upgrading? With high-ranking military personnel in attendance from across the region, attendees will receive first-hand answers to these exact questions.

Sponsoring companies such as Honeywell, Thales, Harris RF Communications, DRS Technologies and Asaiki view Armoured Vehicles Asia 2013 as a unique opportunity to learn exactly how these budgets are being spent. Are they upgrading armour for increased IED protection? Are they looking towards lighter vehicles to increase survivability through enhanced mobility? Are they focusing on C4I in order to overcome threats with increased environmental awareness?

In October, these questions and more will be answered. Senior-ranking military speakers from across the region will address the directions they are taking in order to advance their land capabilities. Attendees will leave no stone unturned during the organized Q&A and networking sessions. Savvy solution providers, system integrators, and equipment suppliers are using this opportunity for highly targeted business development.
