Marketing the Industrial Hygiene Profession & the CIH Program Increases Health & Safety Awareness

LANSING, Mich. - July 29, 2013 - PRLog -- The industrial hygiene profession has a long history of helping to protect and enhance the health and safety of people at work and in their communities. In fact, the term “industrial hygiene” gained popularity back in the early 1900s with the formation of the Industrial Hygiene Section of the American Public Health Association.  

Industrial hygiene professionals are dedicated to anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling a wide range of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic stressors.  For over 50 years, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) has been promoting the profession and administering the Certified Industrial Hygienist program.  Through these efforts, ABIH has become the world's largest, premier organization for certifying thousands of professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene.
