Russell Bedford International member firm Lubbock Fine appoints first female partner

LONDON - July 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Lubbock Fine, the London-based member firm of global accounting network Russell Bedford International, has fulfilled a long-held ambition with the appointment of its first female partner.  Clare Munro, a senior UK and international tax specialist, joins Lubbock Fine from a mid-tier UK firm.

Whilst a good number of the firm's international peers have had female partners in place for many years, the UK's Accountancy Age magazine (7 August 2012) reports that progress of women in the profession has been disappointingly slow over the past 25 years and thus the number of female partners in similar sized UK firms is surprisingly low.  "Despite that," comments Clare Munro, "I've never felt that gender has been an issue in my own working life.  I do appreciate though that there are genuine difficulties for many women in this area but these days, a good balance in more achievable than ever."

With a background gained in Big 6 firms, Munro’s appointment further consolidates the firm’s market-leading international tax advisory practice.  “I’m looking forward to driving Lubbock Fine’s tax department to add further value to the excellent service already delivered to business and private clients,” said Munro.  “In an arena where it’s so easy for people to trip up, we can offer real protection and added value whilst at the same time arranging clients’ business affairs to mitigate tax liabilities.”
