New Science Fiction Novel, The Entropy Heresy, with Alice in Wonderland Logic and 1984 Menace

Witty, clever, absurd, intricate, compelling, and delightful. Jed Brody has taken a fresh and engaging approach to ancient storytelling dichotomies of dark and light, below and above, soiled and pure.

The Entropy Heresy
COQUITLAM, British Columbia - July 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Author Jed Brody loves trees and hasn't driven a car since age 21. A volunteer with Trees Atlanta, Jed is an Emory University physics senior lecturer who has served in the Peace Corps and participated in the Emory Tibet Science Initiative—teaching physics to monks. What's more, he is donating 100% of his author royalties from two recent books to Sustainable Harvest International, which provides farming families in Central America with the tools and training to preserve our planets tropical forests, while overcoming poverty--three million trees have been planted by SHI.

Moon Willow Press (MWP), an independent press in British Columbia, seeks out authors just like Jed, who want to make a difference in the world, in a good way. In 2012 MWP published the first of Jed's Heresy series books, The Philodendrist Heresy (2012), a quirky science fiction novel seeped in humor and action, strongly undermined by a good message: unless we take care of the planet's great forests, something untoward could occur, such as, oh, an underground dystopian world built by humans, with mysterious heresy proclamations praising the new system and its founders. Hidden in this crypt world is a secret, and heroine Danielle Gasket uses trial, error, math puzzles, and wit to find elusive and endangered sages who know the real truth.

In the second part of the series, The Entropy Heresy, just published on July 23, 2013 by MWP, Danielle continues where she left off, in a story that author Stephen Wing of Free Ralph! An Evolutionary Fable describes:

The Alice in Wonderland logic and 1984 menace of crypt-world society will send an icy chill down the reader’s spine, even as the ingenuity and bravery of Danielle and her companions sends up a flare of hope.

Erik Oliver, of Cornerstone and Grove, adds:

Witty, clever, absurd, intricate, compelling…delightful. Brody has taken a fresh and engaging approach to ancient storytelling dichotomies of dark and light, below and above, soiled and pure, descension and ascension–both literally and figuratively. The Entropy Heresy is a captivating and complete story in its own right that picks up where The Philodendrist Heresy left off, on a far future Earth of Brody’s wonderful imagination.  Brody effectively blends science fiction, fantasy, philosophy, and advocacy into a work that is both fun to read and thought-provoking.

Philodendrist is available chapter-by-chapter from www.moonwillowpress.com as part of the publisher's Summer Reading Program, and Entropy will be a free Kindle download on the weekend of September 8-9, 2013, when the summer program closes. Both books are available for order at Moon Willow Press, and both are printed on 100% recycled paper.

Moon Willow Press is also donating 5% of all book sales to Guarding the Gifts, a Gitga'at organization that helps defend another forest, The Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia.
