Remember anyone can show you a home but you need more information to make a well informed decision. How long have you lived in the area?

Don't be afraid to ask them for information to backup what they are saying. It is readily available to them and can be easily sent to you.

Many companies on the web now have what they call buyers agents. What is a buyers agent? They represent you and help you find a home. Most buyers agents are inexperienced agents who have a license but have little real world experience. We were all there at one time or another but I don't want to be the guinea pig.  Sure they can drag you around , show you properties, hopefully know something about the communities they are showing but are they experts? Not usually. You want the most knowledgable agent who specializes in what you are looking for. When I get customers who want to look in Boca Raton I refer them. Not because I don't know the area as I grew up there but I don't know whats going on in their market. It is the best thing to do for the customer.
