C&S and Family of Companies Contributes Record $1.486M to United Way to Improve Lives

July 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Keene, NH - C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. and its employees across the enterprise raised $1.468 million for communities during the 2013 United Way campaign. This represents an increase of 23%. The workplace campaign held engaged 42% of employees as donors; all gifts were matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.

C&S is part of the United Way’s Global Corporate Leadership Program, representing more than 100 top corporations. These companies partner with United Way to improve people’s lives and create long-term sustainable community change by focusing on the areas of education, income and health.

“We’re so appreciative and proud of our employees,” said Gina Goff, the Senior Director of Community Involvement at C&S. “Their donations are doubled by the company and will be invested in 87 local United Ways from coast-to-coast.  Together, we’re creating opportunities for a brighter future and a better life for everyone.”

Employees at four C&S food distribution centers will be recognized by the company for their campaigns:

Hatfield, MA
Champions Award for most dollars pledged

Chester NY & Bethlehem PA
Excellence Award for highest participation rate

Stockton CA
Spirit Award for organization and enthusiasm

In the past seven years alone, the company and its employees have pledged more than $7 million.
