The Dye Course named 2013 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf (http://www.barefootgolf.com) has won 2013 “Course of the Year” from a vote of the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association membership. George Hilliard, Association Executive Director, made the announcement at the July meeting.

The Dye Course is one of four courses that were opened simultaneously on April 13, 2000.  This is the only time a developer has opened four new courses at the same time in the United States. For the past 11 years the Dye Club has been the host site of the Monday after the Masters Tournament, the largest single day charity golf tournament in South Carolina.

The Dye Course is a Pete Dye layout of 7,343 yards that has regularly been named one of the nation’s “Top 100 Courses” by Golf Magazine, Golf Digest and Golfweek. Most recently, the SC Golf Course Ratings Panel ranked it on there “Best You Can Play on Grand Strand" list in 2013.

The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf (http://www.barefootgolf.com) will advance to state competition, where it will make a presentation along with other courses from different regions within the state. The “Course of the Year” for South Carolina will be announced sometime in mid-August.

Each of the state winners from across the across the country will advance to the regional and national competition, with the winner to be announced in February in San Diego in conjunction with the National Golf Course Owners Association annual conference.
