That included 19 from Erie County and 11 from Westmoreland County in Pennsylvania, while 9 medical students came from Sarasota and Manatee Counties in Florida. The College also saw an increase in the number of students who made their decision to matriculate at LECOM more than four years ago. Seventeen students applied were accepted to both LECOM and one of the college’s undergraduate Early Acceptance Program affiliated schools. These new medical students come from Gannon, Mercyhurst, Seton Hill, St. Bonaventure, Edinboro, Clarion, Canisius, Sienna and Kettering. The combined medical school enrollment of the three campuses has reached 2,246 medical students and the College remains the largest medical school in the country. Including dental, pharmacy and graduate studies, LECOM now has more than 3500 students. Second-year osteopathic medical students report to campus on Aug. 6. New Students enrolled in the School of pharmacy arrive in Erie and Bradenton in mid-August and the School of Dental Medicine students began classes earlier in July at the Bradenton campus.
