YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Acoustic powerhouse Blue Moon Soup will bring their signature and high-energy quartet to venues across the U.S. as part of their Moonrise Tour this coming fall.  Touring in support of their new self-titled CD, Blue Moon Soup's performances have been igniting stages across the Midwest and will soon tour from Ohio to Colorado in a series of new dates.  This is a band that loves jamming roots-folk music - loves their audiences - and knows how to have a rollicking good time!

Given that each of them have been playing music and singing for many years, it is no surprise that this band has become known as "the kids who bring the party."  Their forceful and startling brilliance complements their sincerity and brings a spirit to their live performance that transforms one person on the dance floor, to fifty, in just a few measures.  Blue Moon Soup headlines and performs in major festivals, concert halls, clubs and pubs throughout the United States.

"Whether the band is playing a late-night gig around the bonfire or headlining a venue you can bet these guys are going to bring the heat and give you a show you'll remember," says Jimmy Cummings, voice of Buckeye Music Magazine.  Raye and Bryan Sanborn of Family Roots Festival commented after hearing the band, "trailside, fireside, and on stage, Blue Moon Soup can draw even the most left-footed among us to the dance floor, with their signature style of Bluegrass folk-rock that transcends generations and genres," and Ryan Neeley of Appalachian Jamwich Magazine writes, "Pure, hard-driving, energetic and precise, Blue Moon Soup's sound is refreshingly organic, with four-part harmonies that exemplify the talent in the surging bluegrass-folk movement."

Blue Moon Soup's nine CDs, Lonely Mountain, A Tribute to the Music of Lord of the Rings, Live at J-Alan's, Live at J-Alan's Redux, Live in the Living Room, Live at BassJam, Live at Tribal Connection Art and Music Festival, the Ville and The Good River Gathering are currently available through their website (www.bluemoonsoupmusic.com) and through a variety of internet retailers including bandcamp.com.  All releases are also available through digital download.  The band records the majority of their live shows which are available for free on archive.org.  They also encourage tapers at their shows, a tradition of the Grateful Dead, which they continue to honor.

Blue Moon Soup is Jon Baumann on standup bass, Robbie Marion on fiddle, Brendan Moore on mandolin and Justin Moon on guitar.  All members provide vocals.  The band's webpage contains photos, upcoming dates and bio information on the band members. You can find their websites at www.bluemoonsoupmusic.com and www.facebook.com/BlueMoonSoup.
