Erie Physician Elected to American Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees

— Frank M. Tursi, DO, of Erie, Pa., was elected to the position of third vice president of the American Osteopathic Association <http://www.osteopathic.org/Pages/default.aspx> ’s (AOA) Board of Trustees during the AOA’s Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates in Chicago.
“It is an honor to accept the nomination of my fellow osteopathic physicians from Pennsylvania to serve as an AOA vice president,” says Dr. Tursi. “I look forward to representing my fellow DOs.”

Professional Background
An AOA board-certified family physician, Dr. Tursi works for Medical Associates of Erie, is a professor of family medicine at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, and is a former director of medical education at Millcreek Community Hospital (MCH) in Erie.

In addition to his involvement in the AOA, Dr. Tursi served as the president of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and a member of the Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.

Education
After earning his osteopathic medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Tursi completed an internship at MCH.

The AOA’s House of Delegates, comprised of more than 500 delegates representing osteopathic state medical associations, specialty societies, interns, residents and students from throughout the country, meets annually in July to set organizational policies and elect new officers.
