Attorney John J. Fox Joins University’s Advisory Council Focusing on New Legal Studies Focus

SAN ANTONIO - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorney John J. Fox is now a member of an Advisory Council at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas that will focus on bringing a greater legal studies focus to the university’s Political Science Program. The San Antonio criminal defense lawyer was invited by university officials to join the council because of his legal experience and his past serving as a mentor to students. According to the attorney’s letter of invitation to join the Advisory Council, the university has reformulated the Political Science degree so that it has a new focus on Pre-Law and Legal Process studies. This change was based on the fact that there has been a greater demand for a degree that prepares students for law careers. Some of the changes to the Political Science Program include new courses that give students the opportunity to participate in mock trials and to get prepared for the LSAT.

The university noted that it has reached out to legal experts, alumni to and community leaders to become members of the Advisory Council. Members of the council will serve as advisors to the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Through their roles, they will offer ideas and feedback concerning course content; share their expertise on best practices; mentor students; and assist with providing networking, internship and service learning project opportunities for students. The Advisory Council members will work in a pro-bono capacity. The council is expected to meet for the first time in the coming months.
