takes his “patent-pending” product design back to the Central Missouri area to be displayed in the Agriculture Building at this year’s Missouri State Fair.The “My Little Garden Barrel”
planter is an innovative container gardening product that allows anyone living anywhere to grow some of their own fresh fruits, vegetables or herbs without the time, space or resources necessary of a traditional in-ground garden. The unique planter contains 16 side cup openings and a center watering tube, allowing for maximum plant growing efficiency in a limitedamount of space. s father,
Sam Young, a long time resident of the Sedalia area.“I give my dad credit for the original design of the prototype unit. I simply took it and developed it into a product design that could be professionally produced, sold and distributed,”says Andy, referring to his father’
s original design ideas.
The “My Little Garden Barrel”
planter is custom molded and hand trimmed at a facility in Kansas. This is another of Mr. Young’
s goals in producing his product, to have it entirely
made in the USA. Carl Hansen, Business Development Manager for Charloma, Inc., says,“
his team members are enthused about producing the “My Little Garden Barrel”
planter, a very unique and useful product that has applications in several markets."
Mr. Young says he is very excited about going back to Sedalia and having a booth in the Agriculture Building. “I grew up going to the fair every year, so this will be a great experience for me to go back now as a business owner to display our product and to interact with all the great folks who will be attending this year’s Missouri State Fair.”
