BALTIMORE—Deputy Chief Information Officer of United States Securities and Exchange Commission Pamela Dyson has agreed to speak at Women of Color Magazine’s 18th Annual Women of Color Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Conference which is scheduled to take place October 17-19 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

The 2013 Women of Color STEM conference is a multicultural event for women in scientific and technical careers, which will feature several key speakers who will address the underrepresentation of women in these disciplines. The conference will also host training seminars that will highlight important topics such as leadership and professional skills, diversity and inclusion, technical leadership and innovation and career outlook.

Dyson will participate in the October 19th, Saturday morning “Breakfast with Leaders and Legends,” an event that offers insight into the skills needed for the C-suite. During the breakfast, top executives will hone the message with stirring discussions with the audience on the qualities of legendary leadership.

The 2013 Women of Color STEM Conference creates an informal, trusted community that provides support specifically to women professionals and students who seek encouragement and guidance as they prepare to enter into their professions. In addition to providing support, this conference offers a unique opportunity to increase recruitment, retention, professional development and employee recognition capabilities.

A graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, Ms. Pamela Dyson was appointed as Deputy CIO of United States Securities and Exchange Commission in 2012 where she works to further modernize and enhance the agency’s information technology systems.
