July 23, 2013 - PRLog -- In a recent Science Daily report titled, The Right Snack May Aid Satiety, Weight Loss" healthy snacks are described as those that "promote a feeling of fullness (satiety) may reduce the amount of food consumption." Dr. Roberta Re further states, "Appetite control is an area of weight management that is receiving increased attention as the food industry aims to provide consumers with foods that will keep them fuller for longer.,"

The idea presented by Science Daily is that appetite control by choosing the "right snacks" is a direction the food industry should be promoting. The fact of the matter, according to a spokesperson for the author, "Appetite control with snacks is definitely not the direction one takes to adopt healthy eating habits. Snacks are definitely not recommended."

Author Diana Artene whose book, "5 Gears Diet: Learn how to drive your body," promotes healthy eating. After all, healthy eating is all about balanced and moderate eating, consisting of eating foods that support your decision to eat healthy meals. Healthy eaters eat many different types of foods, not limiting themselves to one specific food type or food group.

Artene says, "Eating should be about taking care of your body, not about punishing your body for your behavior."

Her brutally honest book "5 Gears Diet" provides all the information one needs to know about fat gain and fat loss, in addition to how these mechanisms work. In her words, "Weight loss tip: When you want cake, eat the absolute best ones when you are hungry. It is also important to know the longer the shelf-life the worse it is for you.

Obviously some natural foods can keep for long periods of time like coconuts, but things like fast food along with so many other “treats” need to be preserved so they can be shipped and sit on shelves for longer periods thus increasing profit. This is NOT about health. It’s about profit. That’s all."

All in all, the real path to losing weight is about eating healthy. And to do so, according to researchers and nutritionists like Artene, requires quite a bit of leeway. You might eat too much or not enough or you could even consume foods that are sometimes higher or lower in nutrition. However, you should always fuel your body and your brain regularly with enough food to keep both your mind and body strong and alert.
