Zurn Launches First Two of a Series of Continuing Education Courses for Architects

ERIE, PA – Zurn Industries, LLC, the leader in engineered water solutions, has launched two new continuing education courses for architects–the first two of a series of eight new courses scheduled for release through early 2014.

The first course – “Sustainable Restroom Design”– explores commercial plumbing product innovations, technologies, and strategies that are advancing the principles of sustainable design, life-cycle assessment, and water efficiency in new and old commercial buildings.

The course emphasizes that sustainability is not achieved solely with new construction. By upgrading and retrofitting existing restroom facilities, the upgrade can make an immediate impact on water conservation through the selection of low-consumption water closets, urinals, and sensor faucets.

The second course, launched this month – “Siphonic Roof Drain Systems” – explains the importance of roof drainage, how to select and specify the appropriate roof drain systems by application, and the sustainable benefits of siphonic drain systems. In addition, architects will benefit from an explanation of the siphonic theory, industry codes, and standards.

Two other Zurn courses scheduled to launch this year:

In total, eight Zurn courses will be available by April 2014.
