STERLING, Va. - July 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Abrakadoodle Remarkable Art Education is expanding its reach to children with the addition of its newest franchise unit in Georgia. The artistic husband and wife duo Kim Eason Nubel and Ryan Nubel of Smyrna, Georgia will be providing a wide range of art programs to include visual arts classes, camps, workshops, as well as in-school field trips, special events and arty parties at schools, community centers, faith-based locations and other sites that serve children throughout Atlanta Metro area to include such communities as Cobb, DeKalb, Marietta, Midtown Atlanta and Smyrna.

“We are delighted to welcome Kim and Ryan to our award-winning Abrakadoodle franchise system,” said Rosemarie Hartnett, CFE, President and Co-Founder of Abrakadoodle, Inc. “They bring both passion and impressive backgrounds in the arts, as well as a strong business acumen, which I am confident will help ensure their tremendous success in a community that values art, culture and creativity.”

“We’ve been looking a long time for something we could do on our own out of the corporate environment,” said Kim Eason Nubel, a Georgia native. “Abrakadoodle is our answer and something we believe in.” With a background in the arts, including fine arts education at the University of Denver, as well as the College of Atlantic in Maine, Kim brings tremendous knowledge regarding the visual arts. Her focus has been on community art. In fact, Ms. Nubel created a giant mural for the 1996 Centennial Olympics held in Atlanta. Working with students at Dunbar Elementary School, the 100 by 20 foot mural brought Atlanta’s motto, “Come Celebrate Our Dream” into a captivating visual. Ms. Nubel presently works for Turner Broadcasting and has extensive experience in presentation design, as well as meetings and events. Further, Kim has owned a faux finishing business. She met her husband and business partner Ryan Nubel while producing a ghost documentary in which Ryan was a cameraman. The creative pair has two children: Hailey, age two and Will, age four.

Ryan Nubel was born in Norfolk, Virginia but grew up in Marietta. He first attended UGA and then the Art Institute of Atlanta. He was worked with Arthur Anderson in graphic and web design, as well as animation. Following his work at Arthur Anderson, Ryan spent a year backpacking around the world before moving to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where he took up video production. Next, Ryan was off to Vancouver, where he studied 3D Animation before moving to San Francisco for three years. In San Francisco, Ryan learned teleprompting and currently owns a teleprompting business. “I am excited to apply my business and art skills to building a strong Abrakadoodle art program that will make a difference for children in Atlanta,” Ryan commented.

Kim and Ryan will be starting Abrakadoodle classes in at least six locations this fall and plan to add a seventh very soon (the Smyrna Parks and Recreation Center).
