When Does an RFP Become an RF-Not?

CHICAGO - July 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Trying to get the correct response back from vendors during technology selection can result in lots of extraneous time and effort – and not getting you the result you want. In a recent post on CIO.com, Stephanie Overby paints a different picture - due to the often rigid constraints put on RFPs (Requests for Proposal) all the REAL requirements for an engagement may not be revealed until it’s too late. By that time you have spent copious amounts of time and money on the wrong approach – and the vendor- client trust relationship has been destroyed. Ms. Overby suggests trying an RFS (Request for Solution), which is a process that is gaining in popularity because it engenders early vendor-client trust that results in better, less costly outcomes for clients.
