About the Weldcup - http://www.ewf.be/ From an initial number of ten countries, the Weldcup has grown to a total of fourteen countries and over twenty organizations who have committed to develop a uniform professional competition directed to young people engaged in welding. The "WELDCUP" aims to reinforce a closer link of VET with working life, of welders with employers. It will be a good opportunity for young people to demonstrate their skills to potential employers and major organisations active in the welding and manufacturing sector. A consortium with representatives from all of the participating countries has organized the competition's common concept, giving each partner the opportunity to give their specific contribution to the structure and rules of the competition. This will be the basis of the first, common European welding competition "WELDCUP" that is expected to be periodically organised each year, following the conclusion of the Partnership.
