TOKYO, Japan - July 22, 2013 - PRLog -- TOKYO - July 8, 2013 – Japan’s Sewage Works Association brings Sewage Works Exhibition 2013 to Tokyo Big Sight convention center from July 30 to August 2 under the theme “Showcase of World-Class Technology.” The exhibition will showcase the latest innovations that Japanese and international engineers have contributed to sewage maintenance technology – one of the most important infrastructure elements for modern communities everywhere. The event will also create opportunities for sewage engineers to network with colleagues from around the world.

This year marks the exhibition’s 26th edition and 323 companies, including many from abroad, will present cutting-edge technology and equipment featuring the latest in design and inspection, construction, sewer and equipment, sewage disposal, operation and maintenance, and other developments.

As an international event, the Sewage Works Exhibition will include an “Asia Session” to promote professional network-building across Asia. It will also feature an Exhibition Site Tour to highlight updates relating to water and sewage works in Japan for visitors from overseas.

“In recent years, sewage maintenance technology has improved by leaps and bounds. In addition to advances supporting energy savings in new and existing operational equipment, technology has enabled new roles for treated sewage as a source for coolant water, for energy and for phosphorus resources,” said Hisataka Sokawa, President of Japan Sewage Works Association. “Currently, a huge amount of water is used to produce energy, and a massive amount of energy is consumed to obtain that water. This situation poses a sustainability problem not only for Japan, but countries worldwide. Today, sewage is firmly positioned at the center of the water and energy problem, and offers a key to solving the challenges of Energy Creation and Energy Saving.”

Support for Accelerated Technology Development through Globalization of Sewage Works Exhibition

Because sewage maintenance is an important global issue, the Japan Sewage Works Association intends to accelerate technological development by enabling interaction among sewage professionals worldwide while positively promoting globalization of the exhibition.
